THE ISSUE According to UNICEF, 1 out of 4 Rwandan children live in extreme poverty, many of which cannot afford to go to school. Without education their lives are constrained by a recurring cycle of poverty and unemployment with few, if any, opportunities to break the cycle. We want to change that. Young adults in Rwanda struggle to find employment. In fact, the unemployment rate for young adults (18-30 years of age) is around 64 percent according to the Rwanda Bureau of Statistics. Given the growing population and the highest youth population in the world – three quarters below the age of 30 – a focus on education and job creation is paramount. Our Solution We help Rwanda children go to school, receive medical care, and learn about Jesus through our discipleship ministry. We achieve this through the generosity of others – by becoming child sponsors and ministry partners. Why We Are Unique The majority of our Rwanda staff are former sponsored children who personally experienced the life-transforming effects of being sponsored out of poverty. Many of them have professional experience working for other sponsorship organizations and bring a unique “boots on the ground” perspective to our organization. They understand firsthand the needs of the community we serve and are passionate about finding solutions to poverty.
Vision Trip
Vision Trips Vision trips through SEKA will allow individuals to gain a new perspective about the work God is doing locally in other parts of the world such as Kadasaya and Nkoto, Rwanda Our desire is for the vision team members to become more aware of different cultures, serve alongside others, and return home transformed. It is our hope that individuals will not only impact communities and families in Rwanda, but grow closer to Jesus through these acts of service and know Him more deeply. When teams arrive, we plan activities whereby teams can work with the SEKA'S Rwandan staff to meet physical and spiritual needs that can make a long-lasting impact for the families and communities we serve. Ways to give
GENERAL FUND Store/GENERAL FUND Recurring and one-time gifts are valuable to the operations of Bridge of Seka Ministries! Recurring donations and one-time donations both provide stability for our operations and current programs, as well as additional resources to help address immediate needs, as they arise. Our general fund helps to run our operations in in Rwanda, paying for items such as staff salaries, Internet, office space, fuel, insurance, postage, wire fees, etc. SEKA Ministries requires funds for these operations in order to function, so please consider giving to our general fund! Any Amount from $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000.
Discipleship
School Planting 1. We partner with local government in Africa to serve their families and impact their communities. 2. We are planting a new breed of indigenous African societies which can be training and sending centres, commissioning and unleashing awesome warriors for the kingdom into every well of society. Watch out world! Here they come! 3. We partner with local government to effect transformation in lives and communities in Africa. This partnership may involve financial support, sponsoring children, sending mission teams, or practical involvement in their area. Mission Partners We receive short and long term missionaries who can help make a change in the community. We bring them in to serve shoulder to shoulder with local people, transferring the skills necessary for development and progress. Our dream is that they connect with the heartbeat of Africa through these interactions and become advocates for Seka Ministriy's work and communities back home. Both short and long-term mission teams are welcome to come to Africa year round. Our objectives are for every team member to discover, develop, and use personal gifts and talents to bless the community. We are stronger together than we are individually
